St. Peter Christian School is a participating TEFA school. If your family qualifies for a Texas Education Freedom Account, it can cover a significant portion of tuition for both our preschool and elementary programs, making private Christian education genuinely affordable.
What is TEFA?
Texas Education Freedom Accounts (formerly referred to as Education Savings Accounts or ESAs) are state-funded accounts that Texas families can use to pay for private school tuition, fees, and other qualifying education expenses. The program is administered by the Texas Comptroller's office.
For a detailed overview of the program, how it works, and who qualifies, read our complete TEFA guide.
How Much Is the Award?
The standard TEFA award for students without a disability is $10,474 per student annually. For many St. Peter families, this covers the majority of tuition costs. Visit our Tuition & Financial Aid page for details on how TEFA funding applies to each program.
How to Apply
The TEFA family application process is managed through the state's official portal. Here's what you need to know:
- Visit the official site. The program website is educationfreedom.texas.gov.
- Check deadlines. The family application window and notification timeline are published on the program site each year. Check the site for current dates.
- Gather your documents. The state provides a family checklist outlining what you'll need to apply.
- Confirm St. Peter is listed. You can find St. Peter Christian School on the official participating school finder.
What If I Don't Receive a TEFA Award?
St. Peter Christian School is committed to working with every family. If your TEFA application is not approved, we offer financial aid and flexible payment plans to help make enrollment possible. Speak with our Head of School to discuss your family's options.
Can I Enroll Before My TEFA Decision?
Yes. You do not need to wait for your TEFA award notification to begin the enrollment process. Many families enroll and secure their child's spot while their TEFA application is still pending. If your award is approved, it will be applied to your tuition account.
