At St. Peter Christian School, education is more than academics. It's a calling. We exist to nurture the whole child: mind, heart, and spirit. Rooted in the Christian faith and grounded in academic excellence, our school partners with families to raise children who think critically, serve joyfully, and grow in their relationship with God.

Our Mission

Everything we do at St. Peter Christian School is guided by a single purpose: Developing Scholars, Servants, and Saints to the Glory of God.

This isn't just a tagline. It's a promise to every family who walks through our doors. It means your child will be challenged academically, encouraged to lead through service, and supported in building a lasting foundation of faith. From our preschool classrooms to our growing K–5 elementary program, this mission shapes every lesson, every interaction, and every day.

Our Core Values

The Scholars, Servants, and Saints framework defines not just what we teach, but how we teach and why. Each value reflects a commitment we make to your child and your family.

Scholars

St. Peter Christian School provides programs grounded in excellence to develop the academic, artistic, and athletic talents of every learner. We believe strong minds are built through curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning that extends far beyond the classroom.

  • We believe that a passion for learning extends beyond the classroom.
  • We believe that life-long learners find solutions to present and future challenges.
  • We believe that knowledge is built through critical and creative thinking about life experiences and core subject topics.
  • We believe that students need academic and physical fitness for healthy, successful living.

Servants

Service is at the heart of what it means to follow Christ, and it's at the heart of what we teach. St. Peter Christian School provides opportunities for children to serve others in Christ's name, both within our school community and beyond it. When children learn to give of themselves, they develop empathy, character, and the kind of leadership that lasts a lifetime.

  • We believe that service enriches the spiritual life of those who serve and of those being served.
  • We believe that serving alongside others deepens relationships and fosters unity within the student body.
  • We believe that serving others is the heart of leadership and builds strong character in the life of the individual.

Saints

St. Peter Christian School fosters a Christ-centered culture that shapes spiritual formation in the lives of its students. We don't treat faith as a subject to be checked off; it's woven into the rhythm of each school day through prayer, Scripture, and the way we treat one another. Our goal is for every child to know they are loved by God and to carry that confidence into everything they do.

  • We believe that in Christ alone there is salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, based on Scripture alone.
  • We believe there is one holy Christian church made up of all believers in Jesus Christ.
  • We believe all Christians are members of the royal priesthood of all believers.
  • We believe Scripture stands as the final standard of the Gospel, and that confidence in the Bible flows from faith in Jesus Christ.

Our Philosophy of Education

"Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it." — Proverbs 22:6

God addresses this call to parents, not to schools. At St. Peter, we see ourselves as partners in that calling, walking alongside families to provide a Christ-centered education that nurtures children spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically.

Our approach is built on the proper teaching of both Law and Gospel. The Law of God, founded in the Ten Commandments, provides the moral framework for structured community living and growth. The Gospel, the good news of forgiveness and reconciliation through Jesus Christ, empowers us to live in grace and extend that grace to one another. Both are essential. Both shape how we teach and how we care for your child.

Alongside this spiritual foundation, St. Peter Christian School delivers rigorous instruction in core academics: reading, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Our curriculum is TEKS-aligned and taught through hands-on, developmentally appropriate methods that build confidence and curiosity. Faith isn't a separate class added to the schedule. It's integrated into every subject and every interaction throughout the day.

Our Christian Identity

St. Peter Christian School is a ministry of St. Peter Church, a congregation of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS). We are part of the second-largest Protestant school system in the United States, a network of more than 2,000 schools with a long legacy of educational excellence.

Every student at St. Peter participates in daily religion lessons and regular chapel worship. Our spiritual formation curriculum, Enduring Faith, helps children build a personal relationship with God through Bible stories, prayer, and age-appropriate theological discussions. Whether your family has been part of a church community for years or you're exploring Christian education for the first time, you'll find a welcoming, grace-filled environment here.

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." — Mark 10:14
